The appointment booking system is extremely difficult. In order to get an appointment I was told to call on the day as they do not book in advance. I called back on the day I required an appointment, I had to call over 20 times before I could get through... Once I had finally been answered I requested an appointment for the afternoon and I was told that they don't even book that far in advance and that if I required an afternoon appointment I would have to call back in a few hours. With the difficulty of getting through in the first place and the prospect of all of the available slots being filled before I could call back and get through in the afternoon, I was forced to leave work early in order to secure an appointment. This is an awkward system for all involved and does not help patients who have to work during normal office hours. I would suggest that this system needs to be reviewed.

It takes a very long time to get through by telephone. However, full marks to Nurse Ulrike for giving me all the time and advice on my Asthma condition. Nurse Ulrike is a credit to the practice.

Just improve the telephone system and the appointments system. The cost of waiting to speak to a receptionist on the telephone is getting to be quite expensive as I have found by looking at my itemised calls on my telephone bill!

I needed help for my fathr's decline and Trish sat with me and LISTENED and then got me an appointment for that afternoon. Dr Findlay was also sensible and helpful. Everytime we went in for one of Dad's many check ups,if Trish was there she stopped to check in with me and say Hi to Dad. It was very validating. One of the younger looking Receptionists doesn't engage readily enough - head goes down into 'I am busy' mode as you approach but the more mature Receptionists are very helpful. HAYLEY especially. I did have a lot of trouble with messages getting lost between the next door pharmacy and still haven't got dosset boxes for Dad which he really needs and I have been trying to get into place for 18 months. Although I had to go to the medical centre to get what I needed each time, the level of engagement and empathy was genuine and very supportive - many thanks,

Birchington medical centre is a joke. I had an ultra sound 5-6 weeks ago because I was getting pains in my side, the sonogropher at the time told me what it was and it was down to a lifestyle choices! 3 weeks ago I get a call from the receptionist at the Birchington medical centre to book me in for a non urgent appointment to discuss my ultra sound. My sheduled appointment was today at 5:20pm today, so I get there at 5:10 just incase they were running on time for once! (Laughable really) So still at 6pm I hadn't been so I went to reception and she advised that I was next in, 6:15pm I was called in (55 mins later) I was seeing the doctor only yo be told what the sonogropher told 3 weeks prior! Then asked me if a drank a lot to which I replied very rarely and then he said I must binge drink and again to which I replied I didn't. Then I was given information on fatty liver disease caused by drinking! This is not the first time I have received the poor service from this Doctors and loads of people in the area are disgusted with the practice and something needs to be done.
